Uchouten Kazoku Episode 1 Notes

July 12th, 2013.

Huh, I was sure the setting would be about 1,600 AD or something, really surprised it’s in modern times.

Shapeshifting? Also, are humans at large aware of all of this, or is this a behind the scenes, the true face of the world, kind of deal? Very different feel.

Definitely interesting, need to see where things go, obvious avenues for further exploration were dropped in terms of their father, Friday Fellows and why everyone was afraid of Benten, and the Cedar Tree incident. Can’t tell much now.

Artistic style is interesting, there seem to be several styles living side by side in this show, which is a stylized and somewhat jumbled of a look – I guess this meshing of styles fits this city with its meshing of inhabitants.

So, Tengu have human form only?
