The Devil on G-String Usami Hal 1/8 PVC figure by Toranoana
This is a very attractive figure. Cool socks, sweet face, very nicely sculpted and posed. The ears and tail seem to come on and off, perhaps magnets.
Very sexy figure, in a certain pose she might be too much for some companies. The original art is included in the phone card version for 500 yen more.
Seems to be limited.

Evangelion Ayanami Rei Race Queen Ver. Dark Cherry Color 1/8 PVC figure by Chara-ani
I prefer her original blue-white colours version, but this is pretty sweet too. Nice rear, nicely sculpted, good Rei face (so rare).
Manufactured by Kotokubiya. For a 1/8 figure, it’s pretty cheap. Heck, it’s cheaper than Wave’s 1/10 plug-suit Rei, which I ordered. Then again, she’s just standing there, not a lot of material, so it makes sense. Now if only the rest of the figure makers who have figures just like this price them the same.

Excellent Model Core Macross Frontier Sheryl Nome N.A Ver. By MegaHouse
Love her hair, the sculpting and the subtle shift in colouring. Her fishnets are pretty well-made too. I dislike the bullets, but they can be removed.

White Album Morikawa Yuki 1/8 PVC figure by Good Smile Company
This is a nice figure. She has a cheerful disposition, very cute stance. Her outfit might have done better if it had some more colours, but you have source material…
Nice stockings, nice bow on her back.
She’s a very nice figure, but Rina Ogata is much cooler, more colourful, and more to my taste J

GEM Series Bleach Hitsugaya Toshiro by MegaHouse
The first Bleach figure to get a proper release, instead of a Banpresto one, which are fine, but still.
Pretty good work on Toshiro, though his face is slightly narrower than it’s in current episodes of the anime, and the perm-white hair is something I didn’t see done satisfactory in a figure yet. Then again, you can draw crazy things that physics and sculpting have a hard time with ;)

Four Not:
1.
Black Lagoon Blalaika non-scale GK by Kaitendoh
Kit is assembled and pre-painted by Kaitendoh. Her face is totally out of wack, and that “smudge” is supposed to be a scar.
So sad, because look how much detail was given to the pantyhose, the sofa is very real, and all the small details in her hair (from the back it’s amazingly spectacular) and the cigar, etc. But in the end, you can’t bear to look at it.

Saiminjutsu 2 Sakurai Sawa non-scale PVC figure by Pleasant Angels
I’m not going to talk too much about this figure. The body seems all wrong in some ways. All the muscles are contracted/pinched, her pose is no fun, and well, she’s way hardcore, what with the metal grate up her business, or whatever that is. Click on the photo for more pictures.
The base is a mirror, so you get to see her other sides. Her pose is so that you can have her sitting, or laying on her back.

Da Capo II S.S. Asakura Otome non-scale PVC figure by CM’s Corp.
GGT who runs Nekomagic described it right: trading figure quality for the price of a PVC figure. No need to say more. Would rather pay Wave about 1,000 yen more and get a figure a dozen times better. Though to be honest, a couple weeks back I covered Kannagi trading figures that looked way better.

CANAAN - Canaan figma 048 action figure by Max Factory
Is this a bad figure? No. It just hurts my artistic values. Just like Emiya Shirou a couple weeks back, this figure is about as boring as they come. Plain red shirt, ok pants, and that’s it.
Like a couple of her faces, but hardly enough to justify her. If you have her faces, you could almost mount her on Tohsaka Rin. Heh.

Slightly tempted by Rei, since I watched the anime in the summer (finally!) I’ve wanted figures of the cast of Evangelion, and the price is nice. Usami Hal is really cute, too bad she’s exclusive, or I might have wanted to get her, but exclusives are too much of a hassle.
I suggest this Asuka. I keep thinking of buying her. Cheap, good quality. Cause she’s an older design, and the price didn’t get upped for her re-release.
If memory serves me right, Blalaika’s scar in the anime was pretty much a smudge as well
It’s big, but not smudged, it’s defined.
Interesting to see more Rei figures arriving…
I’d say “Cashing in on the Rebith or Evangelion”, except Rei made it to almost every “Top 10 Anime girls” since she came to be, including all the years without any Evangelion releases.

Yay Hitsugaya! LOL glad Balalaika made the list! I actually see the beautiful aspects of this figure now that I see your post. Had no idea the couch was so nice and how well her hair ripples down in the back. But that face…bleh…
The hair, at least at the back, is probably the best I’ve seen in along while.
Love #1, if she was a kitty, I would have gotten her.
Everything’s better as a cat-girl or kitsune (fox-girl), but this specific dog-girl is pretty cool.
Heck, it’s a great figure even without the ears and tail.
Is it me or the first girl looks like the girl in Kurokami ?

I love that first figure, which I didn’t really read her name because I’m at work. But I saw some of her photos earlier this week. She’s gorgeous, but I mail order if I remember correctly.
Canaan figma = fail. In fact, that can be said to a lot of recent figma announcements. Not that they’re bad bad, but they’re more of a meh in terms of sculpt and accessories. I was going to order a couple Canaan figmas, but her face with the “red eye” is too boring. I think I would like it more if her mouth was closed.

She is surprisingly cheap, only 5,500 yen, tax included. But yes, you’ll have to add in the costs for the deputy service.
As for that figure with the metal-grate. I thought the same. I uploaded 4-5 pictures of hers, as usual, but I then couldn’t subject you readers to all of them… it is that horrifying.
Oh, I think it’s a chastity-belt kind of thing, with the grate-setup to allow fluids out…
