This review IS Safe for Work, it has the posterior of a figure, but otherwise, it IS safe for work.
Shizuka is a character from Queen’s Blade, a series quite heavy on fan-service. She is actually made by Alpha x Omega, a team-up between MegaHouse and Alter. She is somewhat cast-offable, but is done in relatively good taste, and she has a hand one can manipulate.
Click the “More” tag for the rest of the review! (You will get to see her wearing only G-string from behind, so consider, it is just a figure after all)
This is the weekly Figure Friday post, covering the figures released, announced and such during the past week. There will be the best figures of the week and the worst, as well as news, delays, releases and re-stocks.
As always, click on the first picture to go to a site with more information on the figures, and the pictures after the description for the Flickr page, where bigger photos can be had. As always, post is not entirely safe for work, be advised.
Another Volks GK A-brand, after the “La campanella della benedizione” figures from some time back. This figure looks nice, has a simple yet elegant dress, a nice amount of details. The right flow and creases of clothings, etc. I just wish she had the other figure’s face, to make her perfect.
October 26th, 2009, 12,00 yen, unassembled and unpainted. Volks Web Site Store only no direct link to the item, sorry.
Click the “More” tag for more photos and figures!
Neliel is a character from the anime Bleach, Banpresto released an arcade figure of her, relatively cheap ($15-25), and this will be my review. There will be a LOAD more photos for you to view on the Flickr set page.
We have some news and sales for you at the bottom, so be sure to read it all (the exciting sale lasts for only 30 hours or so more). As always, click on the first picture for more photos, the photos at the end are linked to Flickr.
Post is not entirely Safe For Work.
This is probably the best figure of the week, by far. The face is stunning, very well done lips, great eyes, expression, sculpting… the hair is not bad either. I’m actually happy they toned down the purple of her body-suit. Great creases. Just stunning. Someone wants to buy it for me?
Character designed by Shunya Yamashita, which I am hearing I should follow.
January 2010, 340 mm, 11,800 yen. For this size? For this quality? Worth it.
Zabuza, whose last name is apparently Momochi, which no one but Narutards knows, was the first real antagonist in Naruto. And he was AWESOME! And so, this post is dedicated to Zabuza, who traveled with Haku, the super-trap (Naruto picked flowers with him, thinking it was a girl).
Here I will cover this ultra-rare figure of him, and the rare dust, dust as you’ve never seen in a figure review before!
This post is intended in humor, read it as such (including the “Narutards” reference), also, I got the links page up and mostly running, it’s only 70% populated, I’ll get the rest done between now and the weekend, thank you.
Here we are for another Figure Friday. This time there will be less photos, as I’ll try to use “Five Hot – Five Not”, with an additional figure or two.
Also, there were less figures this time around for me to look through, seems a combination of Obon, it not being directly after WonFes Summer 09, and not being the beginning of the month. Comiket 76 is ongoing currently, but I’ve decided to wait with figures from it either to next week, or till when there is an official declaration for them.
Anyway, let us begin (most figures under the cut, due to it being photo heavy). Pictures are not in order of how good or bad they are. Click on the opening photos to go to a page with more photos, usually.
BTW, some pictures are a bit risque.
Best figure of the week. I really love the detail of her hair, her skirt’s edges might seem a bit too plastic-like, but I wouldn’t know without more photos, her forehead’s slightly big. She is adorable though, cute nice face, cute outfit. And did I mention the hair?
It seems costly for the height, but she’s squatting, and her hair is almost as big as her.
November 2009, 130 mm, 7,800 yen.
I think I may have chewed a bit too much off, certainly this Friday, as I’m way behind on school-work, but here I am.
I plan to try and go during Fridays on exciting figures that caught my eye, or figures that are real stinkers. I will discuss figures that have recently been released, figures up to pre-order, re-stock figures, etc.
I will mainly reference Hobby Search, because their site is nice to look at, easy to navigate, and sends me emails on a timely basis, letting me find stuff out with ease.
Kumo‘s blog and Nekomagic are two other sources for pictures I will use here, so I’d like to time to thank them via this blog-post.
At the end of the post, there will be a poll, and some open questions, please take the time to give me feedback, at least if you care to see this again.
This post is image-heavy, understandably.
Stuff up for order:
(You can click on the figures to go to pages where you can usually see more pictures of theirs. And information, like what series the figure is from.)
This figure is a limited re-release for November 2009. 10,000 yen! I like the normal version better, but as it’s slightly more “goth” than the original version, and is limited, I’m sure it’ll get picked up like hot-cakes.
I’ve ordered the third volume of “The Melancholy of Haruhi-Chan Suzumiya”, the parody/comedic version of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. The limited edition came with a short “The History of Itsuki Koizumi“, and what interests us, a petit nendoroid of Yuki Nagato as an otaku. This is especially interesting to me, as while I don’t speak Japanese, I certainly can’t read it!
BTW, I also got a copy of Tony Taka‘s “Shining World” artbook, so that’s what Yuki is standing on sometimes
This will be a review, of sorts, of my first anime/manga figure that is not a trading figure (Ganshapon). This will also be my first Nendoroid figure review, naturally. Yoko Littner(or “Rittona”) from Gurren Lagann, which I covered here last post.
